Ask yourself one question today...ask yourself who you are. Think about someone you love, someone who has helped you, someone who inspired you, someone you probably forgot to say thanks to or more importantly never reminded how much they meant to you. Is that who you are? Thats almost all of us on any given day, merrily plowing through life, worrying about dinner reservations, cell phone reception, new apps, whether those pants make you look fat, etcetera. And then we blink, we miss that window with so many people who we lose touch with, that were there doing the down times, shared a laugh during the great times and whom we spend a life regretting our failure to share our true feelings with. Is that who you are? Mark Dagostino, chief engineer at Hofstras Radio Station in the early 80s, soundman at Heckle & Jeckles, Right Track Inn, owner of CMA Studios, owner of Tomar, community theater actor, Governors floor manager, son, brother, husband, father, friend and MCAP original, has cancer. Its a life and death battle, we all have loved ones, relatives and colleagues who have been lost to it, are battling it and, in so many cases, fought an amazing battle to drive it into remission. It is as staggering financially as it is emotionally and physically and as those in the arts know, unless you had a Network TV hit, you usually dont have the resources to fight cancer on equal footing. On Sunday, January 11, 2015 (see the flyer), a lot of Marks closest pals will gather to remind him how he loved he is by performing a group of humorous skits about bad dates. Well raise some money to help him, in some small way, continue the fight against the monstrous disease that touches everyones life. Have you had the good fortune to have called him friend, colleague, brother? There is no substitute for the life-affirming words you share eye to eye with someone...the expression of love in the here and now. If you wanted to come and youre broke, I got a seat for you, dont think twice about that. You care, youre covered. If youve met him, you know who he is...selfless, kind, honest, true, inspiring, real. We look forward to giving him an evening of warmth and support by the people want that opportunity to share a moment of the great battle hes engaged in. I think you know who you are...
