Aslamo-alaikum, Brothers & Sisters. I hope Insha-ALLAH this finds you in the best of health and circumstances. With the blessed month of Ramadhan only a few days away, one would have thought it is ideal opportunity to come together as a community and seek forgiveness as “one body” (as illustrated and instructed by the Greatest Man of them all, the last and final Messenger of ALLAH – may peace and blessings be upon him). However every year we are seeing further divisions – within families, friends and neighbours to when the first day of Ramadhan will occur and now relatively a new phenomena – namely, when Sehri will end, with different Masajid starting their fasts at different times. We also have the issue as to when does the Isha prayer/Tarawih begin and then how many rakahs to pray – 8 or 20. The division is never so highlighted than in this month of blessings. So, this week “In Our Humble Opinion” show we will be discussing why Ramadhan is causing so many divisions within the community and what can be done to rescue the community so that it is able to follow the Quranic instruction to “Hold firm to the Rope of ALLAH and do not scatter”.
