Aspergers Teen: I have a 17 yr old son who was dx with aspergers when he was 13. Most of his symptoms have been social, though he does have a few friends. He does spends most of his time playing video games on his computer.. with friends. So external activities are very limited/rare. I usually have to encourage and work to plan with him. I do not mind, it is an opportunity to teach him how to plan. He has returned back to his old high school for his junior year (he left to go to a vocational school for 1 year), which was both of our ideas, but the nerves have gotten the best of him each morning. His school is definitely m more than willing to help. This is so new for us, and want to support him in any way we can to show him life skills for the long run. Any suggestions for helping him socially or do deal with his anxiety? As a parent it is so hard to watch your child struggle.
