Aspiring SAPS trainees: There have been various inaccurate advertisements about the recruitment of new constables are being circulated through the WhatsApp platform and via the salearnership website. The SAPS confirms that there are currently no posts advertised for police trainees. These advertisements are part of a scam aimed at misleading the public and possibly corruptly attempting to enlist candidates into the SAPS. Whilst the SAPS is looking into the origins of these adverts, we urge those who are interested in joining the SAPS as trainees, to ignore them. All proper and official recruiting is usually advertised in newspapers such as the Sunday Times. Applications are submitted directly to the SAPS and no recruiting agents should be entertained.
