Assalaimualaikum people cold day today.....would be nice to try some desserts with hot tea yeah!! How about Lemon tart... Do you guys know that in the UK, Lemon Tart (also called Tarte au citron) consists of a pastry case (often made in a fluted tart tin) containing a baked lemon custard (usually composed of eggs, sugar, lemon juice and cream). Usually recipes include blind-baking before adding the custard. Sometimes the tart is dusted with icing sugar prior to serving. Alternatively, the lemon filling can be cooked in a saucepan and then added to the baked pastry case. ok! here the receipe: Ingredients: Pastry: Flour 225g Butter 125g sugar 60g 2eggs Filling: Lemon 2nos (you will need the zest & jus only) Sugar 234g butter 150g egg 4nos Blind: any dry seed or rice parchment paper Equipment: whisk bowl pot fork oven(of course)lol rolling pin strainer pastry casing 8 inc good for this recipe and good set off hand :) Method: do your pastry in advance at least an hour before usage in bowl, sift your flour first, than add in your butter rub it with the flour till sandy texture.whisk your egg together with the sugar,till the sugar dissolve. Adding both together to create a dough,once it done store it in the chiller at least let it rest for an hour or 45 mins. Next your filling, heat up the butter &sugar till liquid form(means butter melt & sugar dissolve) at medium heat once this is done let it cool down to room temperature than add in rest of ingredients mix it roll the dough till 8cm-5cm tick place it a casing, use your fork to poke hole all over the pastry , measure your parchment paper same as your casing put in your dry seed or rice to do blind baking for 13mins at 165 degree. once the pastry is cook, take out the blind, pour in your filling bake it again at 170 degree 5-8mins once done... cool it down at room temperature or you could have while its hot ok! pLS COMMENT or you have any questions pls do ask assalamualaikum foodies!!!
