Assalamu Alaikum. Some IMPORTANT reminders: 1) If youve seen - TopicsExpress

Assalamu Alaikum. Some IMPORTANT reminders: 1) If youve seen somebody do something differently or something that you believe is incorrect: do your research. Do your research. Do your research. None of us have complete knowledge of the deen. The chances we dont know what were talking about is really high. See if there are differences of opinion by the scholars on this issue as well. Theres a good chance theyre following a fiqh guideline that IS completely correct and we didnt have prior knowledge of it. 2) Islam is meant to make your heart soft, not rough and rude. Remember what Allah (SWT) had said to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH): Due to Allahs mercy, you are gentle with them. Had you been severe and harsh hearted, they would have fled from around you. [3:159]. Often too many people are shun away from Islam because of... other Muslims! We see this all around us. The Prophet PBUH was gentle hearted - remember all of the narrations mentioned regarding HOW he went about solving a problem a brother/sister had. What makes us better than him (pbuh) that we are allowed to resort to foul language, labeling, cutting off ties, labeling others as kuffar, and so on and so forth? We wont attain jannah by putting others down, we can be sure of that. Lastly, remember: It is narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, [For] whoever pursues the shortcomings of people, Allah will pursue theirs (At-Tirmidhi). 3) IF it is determined that you know somebody or a group of people are indeed committing wrong, then PRIVATELY give them advice/nasiha. There is etiquette in Islam regarding how to go about giving advice -- we need to educate ourselves! To what reason are we offering advice that we feel the need to point out peoples faults and break them? Are we not trying to help our muslim brothers/sisters, or are we simply showing our knowledge off and/or embarrassing others in public, hurtfully? The way that we go about doing it matters so much. 4) We show the success of our NeighborNets in order to show the work that we do. Alhamdulillah, weve seen for ourselves and have been told stories countless times over the long years that our organization has existed about how the teachings promoted through this youth group has helped them as individuals in both their deen and their success in this life. Well share some such stories once again soon. If we show pictures of our conferences or neighbornets, know that its only to provide further benefit to the Muslims of America and to inspire all youth to achieve a sense of brotherhood/sisterhood. Its for us youth to know that being Muslim isnt only around our parents or during jummah prayer, but that its a 24/7 identity that we CAN be Proud to actively live and still live life to its fullest, as our YM/YMS members show time and time again, only through Allahs mercy alone. May Allah IMMENSELY reward those of you who support us, whether through our posts, or monetarily, or through any other means. And heres a quick shout out to the brothers/sisters who took their time/energy to clarify and debunk the misconceptions that were appearing in our previous post by commentators ( : JazakAllahu Khairun to all of you. We pray that Allah continues to guide ALL of us, so we may be guided and be among those who are forgiven for our shortcomings.
