Assalamualaikum wa Rahmatulllahi wa barakatuh... The Niqab – - TopicsExpress

Assalamualaikum wa Rahmatulllahi wa barakatuh... The Niqab – Fard, Or Sunnah? (according to the madhaahib) Uncommon, strange, sunnah... but it can be an obligation for muslimah. I dont want to write by myself. I have read some articles, asked & discussed about this with some people who have knowledge. But here, I just want to share the articles in english which tell us about NIQAB. And Im sorry, I DONT WANT TO HAVE DEBATE with anyone in this matter. Wht will be my choice is my responsibility, and ur choice is ur own responsibility. Niqabi women are extremist?? Well, once again u say tht, I will throw a bomb to ur house hahaha :P . Some of them maybe, but why dont u see the others?? There has been much discussion in recent times revolving around the topic of the Niqaab, with some people even claiming that the Niqab is not from Islam and that it has no importance in our religion. In sha Allah in this post I will show how the Niqab has always been part of our religion, and also the importance of it. I believe the best way to convey this point will be to show the views of the Madhaahib on this issue. Below I will briefly mention and show what the positions of the madhahib (schools of thought) regarding the Niqab are. Hanbali: The Hanbali Madhhab’s position on Niqab is that it is Obligatory, and that a woman must cover her face whilst in the presence of non-Mahaarim. To see what the Hanbali scholars have specifically said and what evidence they have used, please see this link: islamqa/en/ref/11774 Shaaf’i: The Shaaf’i madhab has two well known positions on the Niqab. The first is that it is Obligatory at all times (in the presence of non-Mahaarim), and the second view is that the Niqab is preferred in general, but Obligatory in a time of Fitnah (a time/place where men do not lower their gaze)**. To see some quotes of the Shaaf’i scholars, please see: ozdawah.wordpress/2011/05/07/shafi-quotes-on-niqab **) the term “time of fitnah” describes a time or place where it is common that men do not lower their gazes. Hanafi: The transmitted position of the Hanafi school is that a woman’s face, though not considered of a woman’s ‘nakedness’ (awrah), is necessary (wajib) to cover because of the fitna involved in not doing so. This is mentioned in virtually all its major texts, including the Hashiya of Ibn Abidin, the Hashiya of al-Tahtawi, al-Bahr al-Ra’iq, al-Hidaya, its commentaries, and other texts. Maliki: The stance in the Maliki Madhhab is that the face and the hands are not ‘awrah, and that a woman is permitted to show them ((Sharḥ al-Ṣaghīr) of al-Dardīr) - Awḍaḥ al-Masālik ilā Madhhab Mālik). As to what a woman should do in time of fitnah, there is differing on the topic, however it is narrated that the best known opinion (mashhur) in the madhhab is that a woman should cover her face and hands during this time (Ibn Marzuq). If there is any mistake, thats mine... And I give this matter to the knowledgeable people. And I seek refuge to Allah from any fitnah & the hard hearts. Hope this article can bring benefit for me and for you.
