Assalamualaikum wa rahmatullah, I hope you are doing great. I am 16 and doing my 12th grade now. Recently, me and my mom were having regular debates and arguments over what and where I am going to study further. I personally love Mathematics and Particle Physics and it has been my dream to study them. My mom, on the contrary, being a nature lover, has chosen Medicine. I get very good grades in Biology Alhamdullilah, but I really dont like it. She is much sensible towards helping and treating the patients. On the other hand, I want to advance the Muslim Umma in the fields of Mathematics and Physical Sciences. My mom advised me a lot over the financial and spiritual benifits of being a Doctor. But my thoughts are just full of equations and theories and stuff like that. I predict I wont do well as a doctor and honestly I dont want it to be my proffession. In addition, she plans to send me to the U.S and get me admitted to some institute. I am an Indian expat residing in K.S.A. I cant study in India as partiality exists there everywhere and the conditions for expats in K.S.A are terrible. So, U.S appeals to my mom the perfect place. Kindly advice me on the topic and please suggest good institutes, favourably Islamic, catering to my needs. Alhamdulillah we live in Jeddah and are practicing muslims by the grace of Allah. My mom is especially concerned of my Akhira. She is especially worried about my three younger sisters as their care taking goes to me, being the eldest. Expecting your reply soon, Jazakallah.
