Assignment with WWF Paraguay Deadline: 15 September 2014 OVERVIEW: WWF is seeking candidates for a 6-month volunteer internship placement based in Asunción, Paraguay, to support the work of WWF Paraguays Conservation Programme for the Atlantic Forest and Cerrado-Pantanal, two of WWFs conservation priority places. MAIN FOCUS of ACTIVITY: 1. Support the Climate Change and the Conformance with the Forest Legislation (CFL) team to accelerate the process to implement Payment of Environmental Services (PES) and CFL in Paraguay. 2. Work with the Communications and Market Transformation (MTI) team to design a transversal initiative to accelerate the implementation of these two mechanism (PES and CFL). STARTING DATE: approx February 2015 REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: + Education in environmental law, environmental science, policy & advocacy or related field, with some relevant experience; + Excellent communication skills; + Good command of English & Spanish (written and spoken); + Ability to work independently and as part of a small dynamic team; + Cultural adaptability and sensitivity; + Flexible, friendly and constructive; + Demonstrated PC-based skills including MS Office; + Passionate about the environment and its conservation & sustainability; + Adheres to WWF’s values: Knowledgeable, Optimistic, Determined and Engaging.
