Assistance is currently on the way for the people of Haapai. Digicel Tonga has chartered a flight to Haapai and have teamed up with the Church of the Latter Day Saints, Kingdom Travel, Red Cross and Tonga Power Limited on this mission. The team will be taking food, bottled water, toiletries, tents, fuel and together with the tech team from Digicel Tonga and Tonga Power Ltd, they will try to repair damaged communication towers as soon as they land. To all travellers in Haapai, communications in the outer islands should be up and running within the next 24hours.
