As a part of the Consumer Research and Insights team, the Associate Director of Research and Insights will mentor our team of researchers, who every day conduct qualitative and community research, across Spanish and English languages. You will work with clients to understand their business questions, propose research design to answer their questions, supervise the research execution, conduct qualitative research, and translate findings to actionable business insights. Key Responsibilities Conduct in-depth interviews, focus groups, triads, concept tests, ethnographies, usability studies, as needed Mentor and supervise team of analysts and researchers to ensure quality of research insights Interface with Products & Professional Services team and clients to understand research needs Draft project proposals Design questionnaires, discussion guides, and other research instruments Serve as an authority on various qualitative research methodologies, and survey methodology Desired Skills and Experience Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will have a strong research methods and research management background, including extensive knowledge/experience various qualitative research methodologies. Experience conducting focus groups, in-depth interviews, and ethnographies is a real asset. The successful candidate will be a creative problem solver who is comfortable with ambiguity and thrives in a high-energy and positive work environment, surrounded by peers with a passion for research quality and innovation. Basic Qualifications 5+ years collective experience in qualitative and/or community research Proven track record of delivering actionable business insights Ability to oversee large-scale projects and work through challenges with limited supervision Ability to lead and manage change within a fast-paced environment requiring constant recalibration Creative problem solving skills A strong track record of managing multiple client points of contact Excellent writing skills (communication of data findings, insights, and recommendations) Outstanding organizational and documentation skills Complete fluency in verbal communication both in person and over the phone Close attention to detail and commitment to flawless execution Entrepreneurial attitude and comfort with taking on multiple roles, sometimes outside of comfort zone Must reside in or be willing to relocate to Washington, DC area Preferred Qualifications Fluency in Spanish preferred but not required Understanding of multicultural consumers, especially Hispanic/Latino preferred Masters degree in social sciences, market research, or MBA preferred Note: Please include your U.S. work status on your resume and/or cover letter.
