It was founded under the act on 9 February 2005 by merging all educational institutions in the province together. Those institutions are Narathiwat Technical College, Narathiwat Agricultural & Technology College, Takbai vocational college and Boromarjonani College of Nursing, Narathiwat. The main objectives of the amalgamation are to utilize the resources most effectively with the lowest investment, to give the opportunity for local students to get education in university and to respond to the local people’s desires for education. If the objectives are achieved, the quality of people would be improved in that all have jobs to do and the local economy would be developed. The name of the university was granted by Bhumibol Adulyadej in honor of his sister Galyani Vadhana. English Camp in Malaysia English skills development project at Universiti Utara Malaysia and Universiti Sains Malaysia (Penang), Malaysia April 18 - May 16 2011. Princess of Narathiwat University has organized this project to build academic networks among local and international universities. The project is to develop and broaden education system plus to encourage students both below degree and degree level to expand their education and their experience from overseas universities. Students are also able to experience their knowledge from various learning resources and from real situation. Students are able to use the languages in daily life effectively and Princess of Narathiwat University become a center of international studies in the future There are 116 students participate in this project including 33 students are traveling to Universiti Utara Malaysia and 83 students are traveling to Universiti Sains Malaysia Lifelong learning international conference 2010 PNU as a collaborated-host with UUM under the name of Lifelong Learning International Conference 2010 held on 9 - 13 November 2010 at Seri Pacific Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Universiti Utara Malaysia UUM Invitation UUM to PNU Princess of Naradhiwas University built a good relationship by inviting UUM having a relational soccer match at Narathiwat soccer stadium February 11th 2010. PNU gave scholarship to a student Congratulations on Mr.Rosali Beuraheng’s achievement, a PNU student from Faculty of Management, General management program, who got scholarship from PNU to further his Master’s degree in University Utara Malaysia, Malaysia (see from: pnu.ac.th/eng/index.html)
