At 1315hrs this afternoon West Point firefighters as well as members from the Orange County Technical Rescue team were requested to Cold Spring in Putnam County for a rope rescue. Members from West Point and City of Newburgh FD sent crews to the top of a ridge line to assist in a rescue of a victim stuck on a rock face. The team lowered a member down 30 yards, then placed a harness on the victim and assisted the victim down to a second group of rescuers at the quarry floor. No injuries were reported and crews were back in service around 1615. Also on scene to assist were Sparrowbush, Port Jervis, Cold Spring and North Highland FDs.
