At 2:30 pm…a moment of silence will be held across the country to reflect on the sacrifices made during the mission in Afghanistan and for our fallen soldiers and their loved ones. Today May 9th, 2014 is the National Day of Honour in recognition of Canada’s military mission. The National Day of Honour is a day to commemorate the strength and sacrifices made by members of the Canadian Armed Forces and recognize the support they receive from family, friends and all Canadians. A ceremony will be held today in Charlottetown at 2:00 pm at Veterans Affairs and tomorrow in Summerside at the cenotaph in Memorial Park at 11 a.m. app.forces.gc.ca/ndoh-jndc/regional-events.html
