At 3 am this morning a man broke into our house. We awakened to the dogs frenzied barking and to find him standing right outside of our bedroom door. He had ransacked our cars, stolen my gun, and was on the steps in our hallway facing our bedroom and Michaels. There isnt an adequate word to describe the terror I felt. When I realized I recognized the intruder as a mentally ill person our family knows, my blood literally ran cold. And then. . .in the midst of this chaos. . .I notice a small, brown bundle of fur. Shes standing there, between her brothers with her little shoulders squared off, ears flattened back, and fur raised, barking her head off. This abused, neglected little dog who still hides under the bed was taking a stand against the boogeyman. Today. . .she gets all the treats she wants. #badassrescuedoggie *the intruder was later apprehended and is in jail. Well repair our door and are hoping to install a security system very soon.
