At a time when political drama is creating an overwhelmingly negative impact on the student senate image, I think its important to keep in perspective how historically progressive the student body of KU really is. Today, let SMU be a reminder of the forward-thinking nature of this universitys student body. No matter your coalition affiliation, I think we can all agree that Jayhawks have a privilege of being represented by one of the strongest student governments in the nation. I hope that we can all take a second to realize that the division that was created by this election cannot continue into next year. KU students cannot let election politics cause the collapse of a representation that generations before us worked years to establish. Lets step into tomorrow not as bodies, but as one complete body, unified by the common cause of bettering this University.
