At an epic event like this - with 15 acts featuring over 50 musicians in a 4-hour show - that is focusing on tributing 1 man, its almost impossible to credit and acknowledge every single person that worked it, onstage and off. A few dedicated folks like Charlie Wiener & Tommy Stazzone put in countless hours & hair-pulling over the last 2 months, and over 14 hours that day, to pull this off. I was asked to help with some of the musical direction (and cat herding) and it truly was a labor of love - done for The Man that hired me 21 years ago and has been a mentor, friend, musical partner-in-crime, and inspiration to me ever since. My biggest personal thanks goes to Jennifer Lee who helped keep us on track and keep me (somewhat) sane through the final hurdle of it - her mantra of Its for Michael stood above all else. ;) Talking to him the next day, how appreciative he was and getting to laugh with him about the whole experience - well, that really made my day.. and in the end, made it all worth it to me. This review (Hi Chuck!) doesnt mention everyone (again - so many did so much!), but as Michael said about the show itself: if it did, it would be longer than Woodstock! Special mention from me goes out to Jennifer leading us on Show On The Road, key members of the Resonators (my musical family!) backing up 6 of the acts + MS, the supergroups comprised of members of Donnie Iris, The James Gang, Beau Coup et al... and all my old & new friends that I got to perform, meet, or just hang with. Cheers to you, and Cheers to The Man!
