At my age, youd think Id KNOW ... and not simply believe, wouldnt you? But ... although I (think I) know that God is as real as the hand in front of my face, thanks to my own fairly extensive analysis of scientific FACTS (and the mathematical improbability of there not being an Intelligent Creator), I really dont know that my continued existence is a reality. Yeh, I believe it pretty much ... largely in the manner as taught by most religious leaders worldwide, and certainly as taught by my current pastor (a nice guy named Jim -- he asked some months ago that we consider him as just another of the elders and not Pastor Jim). And Im sorry, its not as simple as Its in the Bible, stupid! There ought to be something CONCRETE that would give me a knowledge (and not simply a shaky belief) that when my heart goes ________ and my brain gives no response on the EEG screen ... I dont simply go pffft ... Dont get me wrong; Im working on it. But simply saying, Its in the Bible, dummy! only leads to circular reasoning as I see it. What is the incontrovertible (forensic if you will) evidence? Anyone out there in Facebook land who has an idea beyond just waiting for the Gift of Faith? Im nearing the upper limits of middle age as my eightieth birthday is only 30 or 40 days away, so hurry up with those answers, folks!
