At no time do I ever lie to myself about the reality of being black in America. As a people, we have been hated consistently since the 1600s, and that will NEVER change. We have been at our greatest, when we relied on each other, set our own standards, and worked as a unit. We have been at our worst when we abandoned our own values, chased after the approval of those who hate us, and turned on each other like rabid dogs. Again, I fully understand the reality of being black in America. That is why unlike others, I am never shocked when those who hate us send blatant reminders of how they really feel about us.
