At our recent council meeting we approved the bid for our Splash Pad for $413,000. We also approved an addition to the paving contract for extra curb repair in 100 Oaks. We bought 3 computers to replace old ones, sent an officer to DARE training, gave the Mayors secretary a raise for finishing revenue certification, and made some fire truck repairs. We also had to replace two A/C units, one at the police department and one at city hall. Im sure everyones seen the land prepared for the new car wash on the corner of HWY 411 by RBC bank. Several people in Blue Ridge have been upset with the condition of the road where theyve been accessing the land. After construction is complete, the contractor will repair the road where its messed up. You also may have noticed that the old Ethels building has been cleaned up and painted. The owner is reopening as the Moody Blue Bar. He hopes to have a sports bar type atmosphere.
