At our win in convincing the Culver City city council not to - TopicsExpress

At our win in convincing the Culver City city council not to regulate vapor products last Monday, I promised the city council to continue to provide them with information related to the Ecig industry. I can not stress how important it is for us to maintain good relations with local governments, particularly when we have a full or partial win. As such, I decided to go beyond their request for information and offer to meet with them and discuss the industry. Follow up is critical to our success with governmental agencies and politicians. The following is the email I just sent to the Culver City city council and city attorney. It’s a very simple letter doing a very simple thing, but will prove critical in keeping the local government comfortable with the vapor industry. I hope that this gives you some value. Dear Culver City City Council members and City Attorney, Thank you for spending the time to hear out my colleague, Elaine Ruggieri and myself regarding the vapor product regulations you considered at last Monday’s city council meeting. As there were many speakers on a number of different issues before the city council last week; I would refresh your memory by noting that I represented the Smoke Free Alternatives Trade Association and Ms. Ruggieri spoke as a business owner (Natural Vapes retail store and Bare Naked Juices, an E-liquid manufacturer). Per our promise to you to keep you updated, we would welcome an opportunity to sit down with any or all of you to discuss where the vapor industry is going, what steps are being taken by the industry itself to ensure that consumers and the public are protected, and to address any concerns that you may still have. If such a meeting would be of interest, please let me know and we will set a time and place to meet that is convenient for everyone. I hope you are all having a good and relaxing weekend. Sincerely, Mark Burton, JD CMAA Co-President Southern California Chapter, Smoke Free Alternatives Trade Association
