At the Ferguson Solidarity March tonight I witnessed several white people (marching with intent of solidarity) throw smoke bombs at a line up of police from behind us. This caused those in the front of the march to run up the block scared that the police were taking violent action, disbanding those protesting together for a moment. I am deeply ashamed to see this kind of action from those who do not live in fear of the police because of the color of their skin, the way they wear their clothing, etc... It is not white people that must fear being profiled, jailed, murdered by the police but those POC they are marching alongside. Id like to ask my white peers to be respectful of spaces and people.
