At the PT, Helene Bergeot announced a bunch of changes to FNM coming up (effective in Jan 2015). One of them is that we can run any format. I dont foresee any real changes on that front as we dont have as many people come out for non-draft, non-Standard events as we with those two. The other change is that the number of FNM promos increases from 4 to 5 and they can be distributed however we want. Its that last part that Im most interested in. What usually happens, as youre probably aware, is that the two people with the best record draw in the final round and lock up the 2 non-random. We could maintain this status quo and simply give one to first and second and do 3 randoms. However, since we can do *anything*, I think it would be more interesting if we only lock in the player that finishes first and give out 4 randoms. Why? Simply because it encourages players to play out the final round and means that just because you got an early loss doesnt mean you still cant lock up 2nd place. Im certainly willing to entertain all options, but obvious want to run things by those people directly impacted by these changes --- YOU.
