At the beginning of this year we put up two colourbond garden beds (we were given one for a joint present, that was quite high so hubby cut it in half as its quite long too) we began to fill it with fruit and veg scraps, lawn clippings, dirt, etc and was going to slowly build it up till we could afford a good quality top soil to begin our food growing adventure. That project got put on hold after my hubby went into hospital for prostate cancer and I guess we both lost alot of our oomph after that. Our youngest daughter came inside tonight and said Woohoo, we are growing tomatoes, thats so cool and proceeded to tell all the kids who would listen to her out the front lol..We honestly havent taken much notice out the back and just thought it was all weeds in there, never really looking at it closely and definitely not tending to it in any way..But, she was right, we have tomatoes and maybe some pumpkin plants?? I know it doesnt seem like much and probably isnt, but to us, its pretty big after the year we have had, its like a little miracle lol I know its really small in comparison to majority of you awesome gardeners but I really wanted to share this with people who understand the excitement of seeing your first fruits/veg..lol..even if we didnt technically do anything to get them xx Thankyou guys, you are all very inspiring xx
