At the close of 6.0 week here at #cleandiesel, it is only fitting that we honor the memory of one of the greatest 6.0s owners we have known. Steve Price will be greatly missed by many in the diesel community. I contacted Robin Ridgway, a long time friend and fellow racer since they met in 2012, before writing this post and she was able to provide me with an excerpt of his eulogy. “In addition to music, Steve enjoyed hunting, Dodgers baseball (and the commentaries he would post on Facebook for everyone), football, and Super Bowl Sunday parties with family and friends. His latest hobby was diesel truck racing, and he belonged to several truck clubs and organizations. He was a Moderator for FTE (Ford Trucks Enthusiasts club), and graciously participated every year in the Trucking for Kids Race at Irwindale Speedway. Steve had quite a huge following of friends from the “racing world” as well as high school.” Everyone who knew Steve, knew of his kind and friendly manner, he always took the time to help others and he set a great example for the diesel world to follow. In closing, we will share an excerpt from Robin’s post the day she learned of his passing. “[Steve was] generous with his experience, encouraging me or texting with a well timed Ouch! after a thousandths of a second loss at NHRDA Indy. I am lucky to have met him; my heart hurts for Gail. RIP Steve; may you cut 0.000 lights, nail your dial, and give those folks wherever you are a run for their money.” From the staff here at #cleandiesel, we offer our heartfelt condolences to Gail and the family and friends. If you knew Steve or a friend or family member, tag them in this post. We would love to hear of your memories with Steve!
