At the end of World War II, America conquered and occupied both - TopicsExpress

At the end of World War II, America conquered and occupied both Japan and Germany. During the occupation period, we controlled education in both countries and we wiped out the Imperial ideology in Japan and the Nazi ideology in Germany, and taught the people in both countries OUR values. That is why both Japan and Germany became peaceful democracies after WWII. The fatal mistake we are making in the Middle East is that although we conquered and occupied Afghanistan and Iraq, we did NOT re-educate them. We have "respected" their ideology and permitted their Muslim imams to continue to preach hate and intolerance. This would have been like permitting Nazi teachers to stay in German schools. What we SHOULD have done in Iraq and Afghanistan was throw all radical imams into prison and allow only the ones who preach peace and love. THAT would have achieved the same goal we achieved in Japan and Germany. Instead, we operate under the delusion that hugs, kisses and lots of cash will make Muslims like us. -- Dixon Diaz
