At the moment, Im emotionally and physically fatigued. I had a very good visit with Mama, but its heartbreaking at the same time. No need for all of the details. Good news is that shes doing better than I thought she would be because I could get her out of her bed and into her chair and have conversation with her. It was confusing and incoherent most of the time, but I still got to hear bits of lucid thoughts. She knew who I was without having to give it any thought (a blessing!), but shes still not doing well at all. Shes become a frail shell of the magnificent woman she was for so many years. Tomorrow, my sister and I will be there by breakfast time to spend the morning with her. Then my super-awesome brother will be coming in the afternoon. She gets tired and overwhelmed with too many people around, not to mention confused, so its best to go only one or two at a time. The silver lining is that I get to see so much of my family. I also have to add that Im so very appreciative of PPhillip Woodallfor being so quick to respond with support and compassion. Hes home with the children so that I can spend uninterrupted time with Mama. That was his immediate suggestion before I could even figure out how to make sense of the situation. Hes awesome like that. Ive received text messages and phone calls throughout the day from people telling me they are praying for me and that they remember one specific thing I had mentioned that caused them to pray for my mama. God is good all the time.
