At the time Adam was found guilty he was taking a lot of positive steps in his life. Below is a letter from Community Solutions Inc. about the things he was doing. June 24, 2014 To The Honorable Judge Curtis: Adam Dykes is a current volunteer client of the Sheriff’s Day Reporting Center in Santa Maria, CA. Before he became fully matriculated, Mr. Dykes had shown a great deal of motivation and willingness to participate in this aftercare program by navigating several obstacles in order to comply. While he was with us, Mr. Dykes contributed to his re-entry goals in the following ways: • Enrolled and participating in Aggression Replacement Training • Enrolled and participating in Interactive Journaling • Weekly Case Management meetings • Maintained a consistent 12-step program • Enrolled in the upcoming Parenting Wisely Class. Adam was uncommonly motivated towards change as measured by his amount of participation, the quality of his participation, and by his stated goals. It was Adam’s wish, and the plan of this agency, to facilitate the transfer of Mr. Dykes to a one (1) year residential program (Health Right 360/AKA Walden House) in Los Angeles as soon as his court responsibilities were concluded. Baring the outcome for that it was Mr. Dykes plan to request treatment in lieu of confinement. Should that be something the court considers, Adam is an ideal candidate for treatment. This agency often has to help clients find willingness and motivation to change long before any true efforts at reintegration can begin in earnest; Adam came to us with substantial amounts of both. Any questions or concerns can be directed to me at the contact information below. Thank you, Michael Heck/Case-Manager Community Solutions, Inc. Santa Maria Day Reporting Center 1775 S.
