At this juncture, few weeks to the 2015generalelections, Nigerians go to the polls. Like every other heterogenous societies like India, Brazil, Ethiopia, South Africa(the rainbow nation), public opinion and judgements are divided between primodal lines and sentiments like any other Third World country. The target of global discussion, polity and media is locked on the West African state because (1) Population (2) Crude Oil (3) Market Economy (4) Its central role in Pan-African polity which is diverse and of different forms. But as nations of same calibre have climed the ladder in democratic consolidation and good governance, its saddens my heart as a patriotic Nigerian about our sense of judgement about the candidates. No doubt,we all want CHANGE, but change comes with a sacrifice, before the Arab Spring, Egypt, Tunsia, and Libya has viable economies and positive index of development but lacked a liberal system, they paid the price for the change. Japan, South Korean, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Uganda and USA have experienced that water-shed events that changed institutions, realingment of societal judgements, goverments etc. with blood, revolution, authoritarian rule, military dictatorship, war, and civil rights movements to mention but a few. Nigeria is chanced to tread that path by simply goin to the polls. BE GUIDED BY CLEAR UNBIASDED JUDGEMENT AS YOU DECIDE YOUR PREFERRED CHOICE. Look at the state of nation, and ask questions like AS A COUNTRY, HOW DID WE GET HERE? WHERE ARE WE GOING? WHO CAN TAKE US? WHO HAS THE LEADERSHIP QUALITIES, STYLE, CHARACTER THAT WILL SPIRAL DOWN TO EFFECT CHANGE IN OUR INSTITUIONS AND SOCIETIES? WHAT DOES HAVE TO OFFER? WHAT ARE HIS POSITIVES, IDEOLOGIES AND AGENDA? HAS THE INCUMBENT EXCELLED AFTER 6YEARS? The life of a republic lies certainly in the energy, virtue, and virtue of its citizens Andrew Johnson
