At times the world is spinning too much and I stay low and drink a lot of water. These are times, like today, to think of habits, like drinking enough water to stay hydrated. In that category, I notice that when I moved to Mexico I used water much differently. Brushing my teeth or showering in Texas meant just turning on the water and letting it run. Over there, not a good idea to use Matamoros water to brush ones teeth; run the shower and the next person may not be able to bathe, because the collection tanks are run dry. Back in Texas each of us in the family shower as though there is an infinite supply of water. So habits can be changed. I still wakeup several times each night, like I did when Keyla was with us and I wanted to be certain she was sleeping well, not experiencing or at risk of a seizure. For a while there after she was detained by our federal government, I would wakeup and take a few steps out of bed until I realized she was not with us. That does not happen so often any longer, but I still am up and around 3 or 4 times a night. Unusual habit, I think. Perhaps it is one my mind will not allow me to change, because I cannot give up on her coming home some day. I suspect Keylas birthday yesterday and all our thoughts around this date have stirred my mind a bit. That Keyla is something else.
