Atheist Ireland is giving out about the cross being put back up on carrantouhill... Although Im not a fan of believing in a higher power, I tend to separate myself from calling myself an atheist. If they are an organisation who give out about things on the behalf of other atheists, arent they effectively a religion themselves? The truth is, the cross being cut down was a disrespectful and horrible act. The people who erected it did so legally and proudly, and many see it as symbolic of much more than some religion. I say fix it, and let it be. Its not doing any harm and you dont have to see it every day.
