Athlete update! ETPA athletes have again been out and about strutting their stuff. Jessica Russell recently competed in the 2 mile Open Water swim in Santa Cruz adding another first to her long list of achievements. The jury is still out as to whether this first refers to having to swim with whales, seals and a school of anchovy, or completing this distance in the open water! Well done Jess. Ian Ballentine raced in the Age Group Nationals in Milwaukee. Ian AKA Pocket Rocket sums up her experience succinctly by saying Every race teaches me something. This race forced me to dig deeper than I ever have before. I was able to tap into new found strength. I look forward to using that as fuel for my up coming races. We are proud Ian, and most importantly impressed by your work ethic and drive. Congratulations on your accomplishment of placing in the top 11% in your age group in the Nation along side over 4000 other athletes!!. We welcome Jonathon Canada back from his month long stint of Army training in hot and humid Kentucky. Although not exactly the kind of physical training you would normally see in an ETPA training plan, we know the intense discomfort, sustained exertion and mental challenges Jonathon endured will serve him well in his up and coming races. Positive ETPA energy will be travelling north this weekend for Pat Patricia Lai who is racing Lake Stevens 70.3 . Go Pat, we are all with you. The count down is now on for the Oakland Triathlon where many ETPA athletes will be strutting their stuff; stay tuned for an exciting race update after the race siren goes off August 31
