Athletes planning to enter the Hartlepool Big Lime Triathlon are being offered help to ensure they are ready for the challenge. A special Try a Tri Day is to be held on Saturday August 30 to give people an insight into what is required to successfully tackle a triathlon. The session will be led by British Triathlon-qualified coaches with a vast amount of knowledge and experience in triathlon. The session which is being organised by Hartlepool Councils Sport and Physical Activity Team, will be held from 9.00am-4.00pm. It costs £20 per person. It will take place mainly at Hartlepools Maritime Experience, although there will be an open water swim from 1.30-3.00pm at Hartlepool Marina. By the end of the day competitors will have all the skills and knowledge needed to participate in the Hartlepool Big Lime Triathlon. The Try a Tri Day will cover bike skills, swimming drills, transition skills, a mini event and putting on and removing a wetsuit.
