Atlantis: The Golden Age Twas a thousand years ago, When life was barely thriving, There lived an ancient graceful people, Who thought nothing of conniving. But Legend tells of a long lost kingdom, Torn apart by greed, Cast asunder by jealous plunder, And left alone to bleed. The people of Atlantis, Were hardy wise and working, Until one day they came across, A golden object lurking. Their eyes began to glisten, With power and with malice, As each began to hide away, A tiny piece of chalice. The darkness began to grow, First green and then jet black, With each slowly realising, If they wanted more they must attack. They took up knives and cooking tools, Like crazy unkempt, silly fools, And launched into the winters night, With green in their hearts and a jealous plight. Society began to crumble, And collapse into the earth, As old Atlantis, full of mirth, Began its swift un-birth. Today we hear a story, Of a city once thought flawless, So what will happen tomorrow, Will the gold really make us lawless?
