Attached is a letter I have sent to Superintendent Dance regarding the future of Cromwell Valley Elementary Regional Magnet. In short, I believe the county should continue the regional magnet at least until construction of the new Towson Elementary School and northeastern elementary school are done. During that time, the sibling policy would be honored, but a community catchment zone would gradually be enlarged until the school becomes a neighborhood campus upon the completion of the two new elementary schools sometime in the 2018-2019 time frame. I believe this is a reasonable solution that poses less disruption for parents while addressing long-term needs in the area.
