Attempted Carjacking on Handicapped Vehicle in West Springfield WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — West Springfield Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man they said was involved in an attempted carjacking of a vehicle parked in a handicapped spot at the Stop and Shop on Riverdale Road Tuesday afternoon. West Springfield Police Detective Brian Duffy told ABC 40 the attempted carjacking happened around 3:00 PM. A hispanic male with facial hair approached the vehicle and implied he had a gun, although no weapon was shown. The man was last seen wearing a black tshirt, a red baseball hat and blue jeans. Anyone with any information regarding this incident is urged to call the West Springfield Police Department at 413-263-3210.
