Attended the Residents for Responsible Representation meeting in - TopicsExpress

Attended the Residents for Responsible Representation meeting in La Sierra last night. The developer wishing to put 1950 homes across from the Crestlawn Cemetery claimed he was saving the hills overlooking La Sierra - hills he claims 450+ homes could be built on 5 acre or more parcels. Ridiculous - there is no way such a development could be profitable given the amount of grading necessary for so few homes. He further claimed he could build on the ridgelines, when clearly LAFCO precludes that. He clearly will not build the homes himself on the rolling hills overlooking Hidden Valley - he will sell the land once he gets an entitled specific plan. He says the homes will go for 250,000 to 275,000, meaning they are lower income and a school will be built on the site. I did not speak to the developer during the meeting, but, did so afterward and expressed my concerns and asked some tough questions. He showed his true colors and very clearly could care less about the traffic impacts on Norco. I was later told he considers Norco to be irrelevant. More on this later. PS - Developer stated he would have the necessary signatures to get the measure on the ballot in about a week.
