Attention 7th Grade Parents: With the new compliance law in effect for two years, Our Community School wants to remind parents that all students entering seventh grade will need proof of a Tdap booster shot before starting school. Pertussis (whopping cough) is an epidemic in California and is a highly contagious bacterial disease. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), since the 1980s, there has been an increase in the number of cases pertussis, especially among teens (10-19 years of age) and babies younger than six months. If proof of immunization has not been turned in to the school office by September 20, 2013 your child will not be permitted to attend school on September 23, 2013 or thereafter until proof has been turned in to the school office.
