Attention Everyone: Today while in Taree my Hubby & I were blocked into our spot at the mobility park (we have a valid pass) & the two vehicles were waiting for us to return. When we returned we were greeted with a barage of abuse. I am on my Ls and I am my Husbands full time carer. We are young but not abusing the system. My Husband has had a full right hip replacement due to Perthes Disease & Osteo Arthritis, is a Diabetic who suffers Sciatica & a Neurological Balance Disorder which is from a permanent neck injury obtained in a car accident at the hands of another driver. He is athsmatic & riddled with arthritis, & is awaiting tests to see if he has cancer. These are NOT ALL his injuries. It is a very unique situation and frankly l am posting here because l am fed up with the judgement, comments & abuse we face day in day out. Also, I am certain the parking inspectors in Taree are fed up with people approaching them about our car. We experience this even when the L plates are not displayed. I am on my Ls because my Father would not teach me nor allow me to obtain my Ps. When he walked out on us, I was the house breadwinner & helped keep the family afloat, unable to be taught by my mother and unable to pay for licence related things as funds had to go elsewhere. I am now being taught by my husband. If you see us and you have a question or a problem, please approach us nicely and we will speak to you nicely in kind. We are not bad people, we are just in a very unique situation & trying to get by just like the rest of you. We know it is weird. None of the conditions or illnesses my husband has were self induced or self inflicted. The diabetes is a result of doctor mismanagement for six years, as they told him he was too young for a hip replacement and he was instead placed on a concoction of painkilers instead which has ruined his insides. We respect you, all we ask is that you do the same for us. End Rant.
