Attention: Kids want to read!!! Its officially the start of summer, judging by the amount of kids here at Fully Booked. I have to be honest, that at first glance I was suspicious of some of the kids sprawled on the floors. You know that some of them really cant afford to buy stuff from this store. Then it dawned on me. KIDS WANT TO READ. They now have all this time on their hands and they just want to spend it somewhere cold and comfy, secure, either alone or with their friends, surrounded by books they can escape to, and simply have quiet, peaceful fun. Which leads me to ask, WHY DONT WE HAVE PUBLIC LIBRARIES??!! I can go on and on about the whos, wheres, whats and hows of this topic, but I think you know where Im heading with this. Too late for blame or finger pointing, as usual. But my plea and prayer starts. LET THERE BE PUBLIC LIBRARIES FOR THE CHILDREN OF THE PHILIPPINES, PLEASE!!! Can you imagine the citizens they will grow up to be if they were to be immersed in this kind of environment constantly? Then again, now what???!!!
