Attention Mills Band Family! The moment that you have been waiting for has now come. I and proud to introduce to you the new member that will be riding co-pilot with me this year as my Assistant Band Director: Meet Mrs. Shay Wilson (formally Beard)! Mrs. Wilson graduated HS from Highland HS, in Highland, AR, in 2005. She was an All State clarinetist in 2005 as well as a Drum major for her Alma Mater. After graduating high school, Mrs. Wilson attended Arkansas State University, where she was the Principal chair clarinet in Wind Ensemble for 5 consecutive semesters and was a Drum Major for two years of the Sound of the Natural State Marching Band. Upon fulfilling requirements for her degree in Music Education, Mrs. Wilson did her Student Teaching at Jonesboro Public Schools. Upon graduation, Mrs. Wilson taught two years at DeWitt School district, as the assistant to the high school, where she had several students make all region. Part of her success is denoted by DeWitt Middle School Band receiving an excellent rating at Concert Assessment and a superior rating in sight reading. Mrs. Wilson spent these past few years teaching in the Cave City School District. As mentioned before, she is a recent blushing bride. Mrs Wilson has a corgi named Orby and her hobbies include a love for shopping, reading, going to the dog park, and geocacheing! Lets give her a warm welcome! Mills...we are on the move. I can feel it...
