***Attention Parents*** TITLE XX FUNDING IS BACK! As you have probably heard help is coming for working families with the addition of $900,000 for about 100 new slots for Title XX child care subsidies allocated in the Westchester County 2014 Budget. The Department of Social Services (DSS) provided the following PUBLIC NOTICE, which details the process. What you need to know: As these funds become available, DSS will give preference to households who were the earliest to have applied for child care subsidy since March 26, 2010 and were denied because their income placed them in the Title XX category. DSS will be contacting these families informing them that they will need to do a new application with current supporting documentation. These new cases in the Title XX category will be opened for services to begin no earlier than February 1, 2014.
