Attention WSLL Families and Friends: We need your help and this is an URGENT matter!!! The West Side Falcons have been petitioning to the City of Scranton in an attempt to take the Lackawanna baseball complex away from the WSLL. The two organizations have worked together for decades to serve the kids of the West Scranton community. Many years of hard labor, money and dedication has gone into that complex from West Side BASEBALL familes building the clubhouse, forming dugouts, updating fences, putting in lighting on the fields, and most importantly creating memories for the kids. We cant lose this complex and compromise our leagues future...our childrens future. Our organizations operate in different times of the year. There is no need to have a beautiful, thriving baseball complex sitting empty for 8 months of the year. This year our board agreed to minimize the use of Lackawanna during baseball season to allow the Falcons to improve the field to ensure player safety for the upcoming season. These fields are used by all the kids of West Side and our board wanted to ensure the Falcons players were safe as well. They took advantage of this agreement and are now trying to steal the entire complex. Just because they are investing money this year to improve the field is no cause for ruining the existing agreement between the City and the organizations. We have decades of records to show how much the baseball organizations have put into improving and maintaining the complex. So we need your help to stand united!!! Tell your friends and families. Call the mayors office. Call your local council members who will be voting on this decision within the next week. Please share this status to spread the word!
