Attention musicians in the Greater Seattle Area (or those willing to commute further): Once again, the new University of Washington Campus Philharmonia is in need of oboists and bassists. You DO NOT need to be a UW student or faculty/staff member. This ensemble is open to members of the community as well -- of course, by audition. The commitment for this quarter would be Tuesdays evenings 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, beginning on January 6, 2015. The concert will be on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at 7:30 pm here on campus (not Meany Hall). Please comment and/or private message me if interested and for more info on how to join. The program will be: - Mozart: Der Schauspieldirektor, K. 486 (The Impresario): Overture - Schubert: Symphony, D. 759, B minor (Unfinished) - Rossini: Il barbiere di Siviglia (The Barber of Seville): Overture. Please note that the Campus Philharmonia Orchestra it not the University of Washington Symphony Orchestra. CPO didnt exist until this year, whereas the UWSO is a long established ensemble. Its a smaller ensemble run by a DMA conducting student and an MM conducting student. With instruction from Dr. David Rahbee and (occasionally) Maestro Ludovic Morlot. P.S. if you do not play one of the two instruments aforementioned, but are still interested, also comment and/or message me. They might be able to take more people in the other sections as well.
