A throw in shall be awarded to the attacking team from the corner when the entire ball passes over the goal line, excluding that portion between the goal posts, either in the air or on the ground, having last been played by one of the defending team. Goalies can receive a throw in from a teammate and use their hands. 7..GOAL AREA: Only the goalie is allowed in the 6 yard square goal area, except one attacker may take the ball into the goal area and attempt to score. The attacker must take the ball into the area. He/she cannot go into the area and then receive the ball. One defender may follow the attacker into the goal area. As soon as the attacker loses possession of the ball, the attacker and the defender must leave the area. If an attacker goes into the goal area without possession of the ball, a free kick shall be awarded to the defending team from the top of the goal area. In the goal area, an intentional foul or unnecessary roughness will result in a free kick on a goal from the top of the goal area. Only the goalie is allowed to defend the goal. If a goal is not scored the goalie throws the ball into play. 9.The referee at his/her discretion may eject a player from the game for repeated violations, unnecessary roughness, or unsportsmanlike conduct. If a player is ejected, no substitute may enter the game. 10. If the goalie “holds” the ball, he/she may throw or kick the ball more than the halfway line (center line). A free kick shall be awarded from the center field line to the defending team. “Holding” is defined as stopping the ball with the hand or foot and looking for someone to throw or kick the ball to.
