Attn: Kellie Elliott , Greg Harper, and, quite frankly, anyone else who has read comments Ive made about Coda and the songs contained therein - I. Was. Wrong. Seriously. I went back and listened to every cut from Coda, and I am more than man enough to admit, I was absolutely wrong. As for Coda not being part of the Official Canon, I retract half of that, in that they still werent included on regular Zep albums, i.e., didnt make the cut so to speak. But for quality of the tunes, I was completely wrong. As for my memory, I recall Ozone Baby, Darlene and Bonzos Montreaux the most, whereas the rest practically sounded like brand new cuts to me, so thats an unintended bonus - new Zeppelin (to me) after all these years. I have to say, Bonzos Montreaux (as I figured it might) ended up being the least impressive to me, as I had heard it pretty often before. On the other end of the scale, Id have to list Wearing and Tearing at the top of my list after a single play. Every song you guys mentioned was certified legit, and the I cant Quit You soundcheck was incredible. And I honestly REALLY liked every single one of them. What really stands out to me listening to this new material (again, to me) is how deeply Zeppelin was rooted in the Blues. That is my new immediate assignment - re-introducing myself to Coda. Its going on the iPhone into immediate/exclusive rotation.
