Auburn is an amazing place to live. Im thankful for the dedicated police officers and fire fighters for organizing the Auburn Toy Drive. Im also thankful to the residents who donate new toys so 200 families will be able to provide gifts for their families on Christmas morning. Auburn police and fire donate their own time to make the toy drive a success. We live in a world where, sadly, many people forget the great things police do for our community. The Auburn Toy Drive is just one example of how local law enforcement officers go above and beyond. So, thanks Auburn Public Safety and to those in the community who donated, collected, organized and distributed more than 3,000 toys for kids in our area this Christmas. AUBURN TOY DRIVE The Public Safety Department will conclude this year’s Auburn Toy Drive campaign on Friday, December 19th. Members of the Fire and Police Divisions would like to sincerely thank all of those individuals and businesses that donated toys and assisted with the toy drive. The generosity of citizens in this year’s toy drive has been amazing. Over 3000 individual toys were donated, including 34 bicycles enabling over 200 children in the Auburn area to wake up Christmas morning with toys under their trees. A special thanks is extended to Uncle Bob’s Self Storage for donating space for storing donated toys and providing remote drop sites as well as Auburn University Athletics for sponsoring toy collection drives at men’s and women’s basketball games. Many volunteers also made the Toy Drive a success by collecting, sorting, and preparing the bags for pick up by families in the community.
