Aug 9, 2013: Friday - The 2013 Diocesan Choir Workshop/Training Seminar [Part 2] of the IFI Diocese of Surigao held in Placer Parish Church is now on its third day, after it opened last Wednesday, Aug 7, with the Opening Liturgy. This seminar serves as the culmination of the two-week long series of activities intended to highlight the 111th IFI Proclamation Anniversary and the Annual Diocesan Thanksgiving Celebration. It likewise serves as the sequel of the May 2013 Diocesan Choir Workshop/Training Seminar. Like the first part, this activity intends to equip the choir leaders from around the Diocese about vocal techniques, harmony of voices, skills on how to sing in chorus, ear training, and other related skills, with the ultimate objective to further improve the choir ministry. It is also intended to serve as venue for a post-performance evaluation of the choir groups which participated in the recently held 5th Diocesan Choral Festival, with choral clinics on the choir groups of Alegria, Cathedral, Malimono, Placer and Timamana Parishes. Tonight, the choral groups of the above-mentioned five parishes will sing again their entry pieces to the 5th Diocesan Choral Festival according to the lessons and techniques learned from the evaluation, critique and clinic inputted by Revd Antonio Pacheco and Ms. Joylen Pacheco, the resource persons and facilitators.
