August 11 Anna had another good day today. She didnt sleep at all last night but we are hoping for sleep tonight. She went on 3 walks today and ate a few bites of food. It wasnt much but it was a start. Robert and I had a session of teaching about her medicine and follow up care. She has now started all of the immunosuppressive medications she will be taking at home. It brings our total up to 10 medicines, most of which are twice a day. It will definitely be a challenge but I know she can do it. And the best news.....we will be discharged on Wednesday! Her first biopsy is scheduled for Monday. And we will be home sometime next week! So many people tell us how strong Anna is. We see it every day. But if I have learned anything in this time spent here, its that children are so much stronger than I will ever be. They are brave. They are determined. I have smiled with tears to see the progress our friend Mildred has made this week just in walking the halls. They truly are little miracles, just in their very being.
