August 13, 2014 CRD Video youtu.be/dFyWKdjKXbk The CRDs fear of losing the funding fear mongering fell flat on its face today when the Federal Minister of Infrastructure sent the Mayor of Langford confirmation that the funding was committed and that another site could be selected and submitted to the government. But wait, theres more! :-) As it turns out, there is a long paper trail of funding promises and facts that have not been shared with the public by the CRD or its pro-Seaterra Directors though any formal or informal communication. After a lot of digging and FOI requests, there is enough documentation available now to demonstrate that the funding is secure... The saddest part of todays meeting was that when good news for taxpayers came in the form of the Ministers letter, in stack contrast to all the letter waving that normally occurs at the committee table when Directors are trying to brow beat us with the facts, news of this letter was downplayed to a near denial of its existence. Exactly, whose side are these CRD Directors on anyway? It certainly doesnt seem to be the side of the public good.
